Moheshpur police arrested two extortionists from Belemath village in the district yesterday.
 The arrestees have been identified as Ripon Ahmed Khokan, 32, of Bathangachi village and Tushar Ahmed, 21, of Belemath village in Moheshpur upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Moheshpur police station Shahidul Islam Shahin said the arrested persons had demanded Tk 2 lakhs from expatriate Jakir Hossain of Belemath village in same upazila over cell phone on Saturday.  Failing to realise the money the two threw a hand bomb on Jakir’s house at night.
