Trading at the country’s twin bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - gained on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
The DSE key index, DSEX gained 13.71 points or 0.30 percent to close at 4654.75 on the day. Of the 321 issues traded, 178 gained, 105 declined and 38 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 557.63 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday which is Tk 87.03 crore higher than the previous session. Tk 604.45 crore was exchanged at DSE on Thursday.
Hakkani Pulp & Paper topped the gainer’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Apex Spinning & Knitting, Global Insurance, Federal Insurance, Republic Insurance, IFIC Bank 1st Mutual Fund, Agni Systems, Bangladesh General Insurance Company, Meghna Life Insurance and Paramount Insurance.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Quasem Drycells, BSRM Steels, Square Pharmaceuticals, MI Cement and Delta Life Insurance.
Top five losers at the DSE were Quasem Drycells, Gemini Sea Food, Libra Infusions, Aramit and Orion Infusion.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 19.69 points to reach 14235.14 at close on Sunday. Of the 247 issues traded, 140 advanced, 70 suffered loss and 37 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 39.17 crore on the day.unb
