DU student jailed for giving proxy at admission test

A mobile court yesterday sentenced a student to one year of imprisonment for giving proxy to an examinee at admission test for first year honours courses under 2015-16 academic session of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh. The convict is Rasel Sohrab, a student of Pharmacy Department of Dhaka University (DU). The mobile court, led by executive magistrate Md Al-Amin, sent Rasel to jail for one year and also fined him Tk 1,000 for faking an examinee at the admission test of BAU. BAU Proctor Prof Dr AKM Zakir Hossain said, “Invigilators caught Rasel while he was trying to give proxy to an admission seeker. Later, we have informed it to the Mymensingh mobile court.”
