15 matches held on opening day

Engineer Mustafa Anwar (C), Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, hands over Tk 10 lakh to Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul (R-2nd), at a function at Islami Bank Tower in the capital yesterday. A total of 15 matches were held on the opening day of Exim Bank 25t National Men’s Handball Champions yesterday at Shaheed M Monsur Ali Handball Stadium in the capital. Exim Bank Chairman Md Nazrul Islam Majumdar inaugurated the championship as chief guest. Principal Hamida Ali, former vice-president of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) was present as special guest. BHF general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and organising committee chairman Hasanullah Khan Rana were also present, while BHF president AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul presided over the opening ceremony.
Jessore DSA drew 16-16 with Sunamganj DSA in the formal opening match. The following were results of other matches:
 Kushita beat Jhalakathi 26-11, Dinajpur beat Patuakhali 27-15, Bandarban beat Madaripur 20-13, Narayanganj beat Feni 18-16, Joypurhat beat Gopalganj 18-10, Chittagong beat Naogaon 38-10, Sunamganj beat Barisal 25-6, Comilla beat Jamalpur 20-9, Panchagrah beat Natore 30-14,  Madaripur beat Sylhet 30-6, Patuakhali beat Jhalakathi 18-17, Kushtia beat Dinajpur 27-13, Chuadanga beat Gopalganj 23-21 and Mymensingh beat Naogaon 18-13.
