At least 20 people were injured as Bangladesh Chhatra League and two factions of Awami League clashed in two districts yesterday.
In Comilla, at least 10 people were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Comilla University unit over establishing supremacy near Kotbari Government Laboratory School here yesterday, reports UNB.
Witnesses said the clash ensued around 10 am between the supporters of Illias group and Oli group following an altercation over exchanging greetings with the students, who went there to sit for the admission test, leaving 10 people injured.
Of the injured, one Mazed was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hosptial.
In Faridpur, at least 10 people were injured after two factions of local unit Awami League clashed over a trifling matter at Rongrayerkandi village in Saltha upazila on
Thursday.
Quoting witnesses, police said Hafiz Fakir, a supporter of Abu Jafar, an executive member of the upazila unit Awami League, had an altercation with Makim Fakir, a supporter of Khairuzzaman Babu,
president of the upazila unit Jubo League over cutting bamboo in the afternoon.
At one stage, supporters of both the groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving 10 people injured.
Of the injured, two were rushed to Nagarkanda upazila health complex.
Twenty houses were damaged during the hour long melee.
