RAJSHAHI: The passing out parade of the cadet police sergeants of 2015 batch was held on Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) parade ground at Sarda in Rajshahi yesterday, reports BSS. Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Haque attended the ceremony as chief guest.Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest called upon the newly commissioned police sergeants to devote themselves to strict enforcement of traffic rules to reduce road accidents that claim huge lives and injure scores others every year in the country.
If the drivers, helpers, members of law enforcement agencies and pedestrians obey the traffic rules properly many road accidents could have been avoided, he opined. He said the recruits have to come forward with all their efforts to restore law and order in the country at any cost to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the public in general. IGP Shahidul Haque said the police force will play a supportive role in successful implementation of the present government's charter of change and Vision-2021 as the success of a government largely depends on law and order situation of the country. He called upon the cadets to start with their profession with a positive role in containing anti-social activities side by side assisting the victims.
Earlier, the chief guest reviewed the smartly turned out parade and took salute accompanied by Academy Principal Nayeem Ahmed at the impressive march past. He also distributed awards among the outstanding newly commissioned police sergeants.
Some 619 cadets, including 28 females, took part in the passing out parade on completion of their six-month foundation training at the academy. High-ranking police and other civil and military officials and members of the civil society witnessed the spectacular parade besides a large number of guardians and others concerned.
