State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said internationally renowned IT expert Sajeeb Wazed Joy has played a pioneering role in materializing the dream of Digital Bangladesh through his talent, dedication, honesty and patriotism.
“Sajeeb Wazed Joy possesses many rare qualities… He spent his talent for transforming Bangladesh into a digital one as he realized that well-being of the nation lies on digitization,” he said while speaking at a discussion on `Life and Works of Sajeeb Wazed and Digital Bangladesh’, an official release said .
Organised by ICT Division, marking the 50th birthday of ICT Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Sajeeb Wazed, the online discussion was addressed, among others, by Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam, Member of University Grant Commission (UGC) Professor Dr Sazzad Hossain, Professor of Dhaka University Dr Lafifa Jamal, Executive Director of BCC Parthapartim Deb, BASIS President Almas Kabir and BACCO President Wahidur Rahman Sharif.
The function was conducted by Policy Adviser of LICT Project Sami Ahmed.
Palak said, “The overall activities in implementation of Digital Bangladesh are being carried out at the instruction of Sajeeb Wazed. He (Joy) always guided us how to move forward towards making Bangladesh a digital country.”
He said Sajeeb Wajed Joy is a very dynamic and farsighted political leader and he worked with dedicated mindset to turn the concept of digital Bangladesh into a reality.
Palak said the people are getting the benefit of Digital Bangladesh during Covid-19 pandemic. Various digital platforms ranging from providing health services to online purchase of sacrificial animals are being used to meet the needs of the people, he added.
Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam said Bangladesh has started its journey towards achieving the goal of Vision 2041 after implementation of Vision 2021.
