‘Education without humanity is fruitless’

Prime Minister's Economic Affairs Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman said the education which have no humanity, honesty and sense of justice is fruitless, reports BSS. "I am very proud of being a student of Dhaka University. This university has made me a complete human being as it gives me the education of morality and humanity," he said.
Dr Mashiur Rahman was addressing as the chief guest at the 3rd founding anniversary and 2nd reunion of Khulna divisional unit of Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) at Khulna Government Women College auditorium on Friday.
Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the function while Khulna Divisional Commissioner M Abdus Salam, Khulna Zila Parishad administrator Sheikh Harun-or-Rashid, Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Nibash Chandra Majhi and DUAA President Rakib Uddin Ahmed were present as the special guests.
Prof Siddique said the main task of a university is to search the truth.
"The studentship of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was given back because of
searching the truth. If it takes 100 years to take a decision to establish the truth, university should receive that,"
he said.
The vice-chancellor said the university gives the lesson to its students that how to love the country and the people.
"If the ranking of universities is made in the index of love, Dhaka University will secure the top position," he added.
