Two people were killed and seven others, including a woman, were injured in a clash between rival groups at Purbo Shibpur village in Sadar upazila yesterday over a land-related dispute, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Ibrahim, 54, and his nephew Alauddin, 18. Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sudharam Model Police Station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between Ibrahim and his brother Siraj Miah over the ownership of a piece of land at the village. The clash ensued between the two families on Friday noon as Alauddin along with his family members obstructed Ibrahim from cultivating the disputed land. At one stage, the both groups equipped with homemade weapons attacked each other that left nine people injured, the OC said.
