Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) received a direction from the FIFA regarding their (BFF) congress and the election when the world football authority extended the time of the current committee.
The senior vice-president of the BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy in a message through online informed yesterday that the FIFA replied to a letter from the BFF about the decision of the BFF congress and upcoming election which was scheduled to take place on April 20.
The BFF, who has already postponed the congress and the election due to deadly coronavirus fear all over the world including Bangladesh after an emergency meeting of their executive committee and with the consent of the councilors on March 27.
BFF after their postponement decision sent a letter to FIFA on March 28 for their further guideline and the approval about to hold the congress and the election, as the four-year tenure of the incumbent committee of the BFF will be ended on April 30.
Salam Murshedy in his message yesterday informed that they had received the letter from FIFA about to hold the congress and election when world football governing body directed to go for congress and the poll whenever the situation of the COVID-19 will be under controlled.
“Following the decision of the BFF executive committee meeting was held on March 27 regarding the postponement of the BFF congress and the election, we forwarded a letter to FIFA for their approval and for further guideline.”
“FIFA replied to our letter on March 31 with a guideline, according to the FIFA letter, ‘the BFF congress and the election will take place thereafter the situation of the COVID-19 will be turned into normal'. And the current EC committee of the BFF will continue their activities until the situation will come under controlled,” said Abdus Salam Murshedy.
