At least fourteen people, including a BGB man, were killed and thirty-four others injured in separate road crashes in Bandarban, Bogura, Rajshahi, Kushtia and Mymensingh districts yesterday. In Bandarban, a member of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was killed and four others were injured after a truck turned turtle in Kasaipara area of the district, reports BSS.
The deceased was identified as Al Amin, a member of BGB in Barkal Battalion-45. In Bogura, at least seven people were killed and 13 others injured in two separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Bogura highway under Sherpur upazila of the district, reports BSS.
Police said four people died on the spot and 11 others injured in Ghoga Bottola area when a salt-laden truck collided head on with a Dhaka-bound passenger bus around 11:45am. The injured
were admitted to hospital where two died later.
A youth identified as Mridul Islam, 22, died on the spot in Mohipur area of the same upazila when two speeding trucks collided head on.
In Rajshahi, a collision between a bus and a truck at Bijoynagar left two people dead and 15 injured, reports UNB.
In Kushtia, two people were killed and several injured when a bus hit a truck on Kushtia-Iswardi highway at Talbaria in Mirpur upazila, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Nabil Hossain, 38, driver of the truck, and his assistant Ibrahim Hossain.
Our Correspondent reports: In Mymensingh, two persons were killed and two injured when a pick-up van collided with a bus at Darirampur on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
One of the victims was identified as Abdul Jalil, 30, hailing from Sunamganj district.
