Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has hailed the massive efforts put in by everyone involved in combating the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Shakib, who is now in self-isolation in the US, appreciated all healthcare workers and government employees for their tireless fight against the coronavirus.
“I salute all of our amazing countrymen who are fighting this deadly virus to keep us safe. We pray for the well being of doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, Bangladesh Army & Police personnel, government workers, volunteers, and essential service providers who are on the front line fighting selflessly and tirelessly,” he said in a video posted on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday.
“The least we can do is support them by staying inside, taking the necessary precautions, and following professional advice during these difficult times. We can only overcome this together. May Allah help us all," he added.
In his previous video posts, the 33-year-old all-rounder also urged everyone to take all necessary precautions in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) postponed all forms of cricket, including the Dhaka Premier League and two matches between Asia XI vs Rest of the World, until further notice.
