Bollywood stars urge fans to follow Janta curfew

Coronavirus, declared a pandemic by the WHO, has taken over the world right now. Countries like China, Italy and Spain are witnessing hundreds of deaths each and every day. While India too has seen a rise in the number of cases in the past week, it is important that it manages to get ahead of the virus right now before things get out of hand. The government of India announced a Janta curfew for yesterday (Sunday) and urged people to stay at home with the aim of reducing the virus to spread like it did in the countries mentioned above.

Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone and Aamir Khan took to social media and supported Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s decision for Janta curfew.

Salman Khan shared a video urging people to take government’s advisory of self-isolation seriously, “Ye public holiday nahi hai bhaai, ye bada serious maamla hai.. ye sab band karo, please wear masks, wash your hands and stay clean,” said Khan.

Aamir Khan posted on Twitter: “Lets all do ourselves a favour by staying at home-Janta Curfew Day - and until such time as things settle down. Lets pray for the safety of all those working day and night to keep the rest of us safe. Love.”

Deepika Padukone posted on Twitter: A mature and comforting address by our Honourable Prime Minister @narendramodi

I pledge to support the #JantaCurfew on Sunday #22ndMarch 7AM-9PM and also join in acknowledging the selfless and untiring efforts of our nation’s medical fraternity at 5PM!#JaiHind
