Ariful files case against four, including Sultana Pervin

Dhaka Tribune journalist Ariful Islam, who was recently brutally tortured blindfolded, has filed a case with the Kurigram Sadar police station against former Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Sultana Pervin and Senior Assistant Commissioner (RDC) Nazim Uddin, among others.

Assistant commissioners (ACs) Rintu Biswas Chakma and SM Rahatul Islam have also been accused in the case filed by Ariful Islam yesterday for his questionable arrest, incarceration and torture.

Speaking to The Independent yesterday, Md Mohidul Islam, superintendent of police, Kurigram district, said, “Yes, a case was filed with the Kurigram Sadar police station on Thursday. We will investigate the case and we will then take a decision on whether to accept the case against the government officials.”
