An all-round performance by Nasir Hossain accompanied by Saikat Ali and Nurul Hasan’s half-centuries steered Sk Jamal Dhanmondi Club to their maiden victory against Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity in the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Cricket League (BDPL) at the BKSP-4 in Savar yesterday.

Asked to bat, Sk Jamal Dhanmondi Club opener Mohammad Ashraful failed to capitalise early on fallen cheaply scoring just three runs. But Saikat Ali soon assessed the early movement of the pitch and played some confident looking shots to rebuild the innings with a 86-run partnership for the second wicket.

Losing two quick wickets in span of two overs, Khelaghar though pushed opposition back for a while, Nasir Hossain and skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan carried the innings altogether adding a crucial 96-run for the fourth wicket. Nasir smashed 4 sixes and 2 fours in his 57-ball 56 while Nurul Hasan scored 58 from 67 balls.

However, the last eight overs for Sk Jamal brought just 42 runs with the loss of 5 wickets as they posted 276 for 9 after 50 overs.

Ifran Hossain claimed a four-wicket haul for Khelaghar. In reply, Khelaghar, after a steady power-play, kept losing wickets that started with Sadiqur Rahman caught and bowled by Nasir at 9.2 overs.
