A Dhaka court on Thursday set April 26 for submitting probe reports in two separate graft cases against Gendaria thana Awami League vice president Enamul Haque Enu and his brother and general secretary of Gendaria thana Awami League Rupom Bhuiyan. Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Qayes passed the order as investigation agency Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) failed to submit the reports on Thursday.

ACC assistant director Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury filed the case against Enu for amassing illegal wealth of Tk 21.89 crore, while ACC assistant director Mohammad Neyamul Ahsan Gazi file the other case against Rupom for amassing illegal wealth of Tk 14.12 crore. Enu and Rupom were arrested from Keraniganj on January 13, as they were planning to flee to Nepal via India by using passport made with false names.

According to Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the brothers were the kingpins behind introducing casino business in Bangladesh. They used to bring casino materials from Nepal and supplied to buyers here across the country. They own a total 22 buildings and plots in the capital and have Taka 19 crore in different bank accounts. In September, 2019, law enforcing agencies recovered over Taka five crore of black money from their houses.
