Sursaptak, a prominent music institution founded by popular Nazrul Sangeet singer Ferdous Ara, is going to honour veteran singer Ferdausi Rahman. The Ekushey Padak and Independence Day Award recipient will be bestowed with a tribute award at the celebration of 20 years of Sursaptak on March 14 at the National Museum Auditorium in the capital. Singer Ferdous Ara, who has taken the initiative from her music institution, has confirmed the news.

Delighted Ferdausi Rahman as she received the news expressed her feelings, “Ferdous Ara is one of my loving younger sisters. I welcome the initiative on the eve of the completion of 20 years of Sursaptak. I wish all her dreams surrounding Sursaptak come true.”

“I wish Sursaptak to go a long way and our music industry would be enriched with its contribution”, the veteran singer added.

Ferdous Ara said about taking the initiative, “I have been receiving love and affection from Ferdausi Apa (Ferdausi Rahman) since my childhood. I am very happy as our music institution will pay a tribute to her. When I informed her about our initiative, she became very emotional. Singer Ferdausi Rahman is a pride for our music arena. May Allah keep her always healthy and happy.”
