The Muktijoddha Mancha, a platform of a group of people holding the spirit of the 1971 Liberation War, yesterday said some communal forces wanted to thwart the celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on March 17. At a press briefing yesterday in the city, leaders of the organisation claimed that domestic and foreign conspiracies are going on to foil the ‘Mujib Barsha’ celebration. But conspirators will never be successful, they added.
The organisation also announced a year-long programme on the occasion. Mancha's year-long programmes on the occasion of Mujib centenary, include a welcoming rally on the occasion of the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 17. The Liberation War Forum will hold programmes like anti-militant and anti-sectarian rallies and stage liberation based-play. They will also arrange exhibition on India-Bangladesh fraternity and work of Bangabandhu.
