Two Chhatra League leaders were killed in Dhaka and Khulna after struggling with fatal injuries. Rakib Hossain(25), joint secretary of a BCL’s union unit of Begamganj upazilla in Noakhali shot by Shibir activists in the upazila on Sunday night succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday.

Harun-ur-Rashid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Begamganj Police Station, said "Around 8pm on Sunday, Shibir men stabbed and shot BCL leaders, activists in Amanullahpur Bazar area.”

Another injured BCL leader died after being severely beaten by a rival group over establishing supremacy yesterday in Khulna. The deceased was Hadiuzzaman Russel (28) of Koyra upazilla, worked as general secretary of BCL’s upazilla unit.

According to the closest of the deceased, Russel and his cousins have been clashing since long, for prevailing each other.

While referring to Dhaka from Khulna Medical College Hospital, he succumbed to injuries.

 Meanwhile, several hundred BCL activists demonastrated on Dhaka University campus yesterday night protesting the murders. They demaned arrest and punisnhment for the murderers.
