Bangladesh national team all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad expressed willingness to play one-off ODI against Pakistan, slated to be played in Karachi on April 3.
Before Mahmudullah Riyad confirmed his availability for the upcoming Pakistan tour, it was learned that the 34-year-old all-rounder earlier opted to pull out his name as his wife Jannatul Kawsar Misti is expected to give birth to their second child during that period of time (first week in April).
As per reports, Mahmudullah also verbally informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)
that he won’t take part in the only ODI against Pakistan due to family reasons. But later on, he changed his stance and made himself available for the tour.
“I’m going to play the ODI against Pakistan and will come back shortly afterwards to spend time with my wife,” said Mahmudullah.
The Tigers’ one of most senior campaigners, who scored 28-ball 32 in Bangladesh’s record breaking 169-run win over Zimbabwe, had been dropped from the recently concluded one-off Test against Zimbabwe and also asked to rethink his future in Test cricket.
Bangladesh national team head coach Russell Domingo told him to focus only in shorter version cricket.
Bangladesh will tour Pakistan for the final leg of the three-phase in April where the Tigers’ will take on the opposition in lone ODI followed by the second Test from April 5-9.
