BGB-BSF to strengthen joint patrols

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at a Sector Commander level courtesy meeting yesterday agreed to strengthen joint patrols for curbing all sorts of cross-border crimes. BGB sources said the meeting was held at Hili Check Post (CP) border outpost of BGB inside Bangladesh territory in Hili frontier town under Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur district.

Dinajpur Sector Commander of BGB Colonel Zahirul Haque Khan led the 16-member BGB delegation while Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Raiganj BSF Sector TPS Sidu led the 16-member BSF delegation in the event.

Issues like not to open gunfire and killing of Bangladeshis, prevention of cross-border crimes, illegal intrusion and trespassing, smuggling of drugs, women and children trafficking were discussed at the meeting.
