Comilla Victorians captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza suffered from a slight pain on his ankle but the fast bowler hoped to join the team’s practice session today at Academy ground of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
He was seen bandaged on the ankle and the extent of the injury looked serious. Mashrafe, the Bangladesh captain, ruled out any scare, saying he is okay.
“There is slight pain on ankle but it’s not serious at all. Hope to join the practice on Saturday,” he said. Another fast bowler of Comilla Kamrul Islam Rabbi however was sidelined for the next one week with thumb injury. The pacer who made the cut in the national team for the first time against Zimbabwe but couldn’t make his debut is all set to miss some of the matches of the BPL.
He got injured during the practice session at National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Wednesday. His finger was bandaged after the consultation of the national team physio and BCB physician.
“I got injured on Wednesday during the team’s practice. It was primarily thought of not to be serious problem. But as the thumb was swollen I talked to Baijadul Islam, physio of the national team and Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, chief physician of BCB,” said Kamrul Islam.
“They suggested me to bandage my finger for the further safety. Hopefully I would return to action after six or seven days,” he added.
