With the staging of BotTala’s much-acclaimed production titled ‘Crutcher Colonel’, the theatre troupe will complete its 50th show today. The ninth production of the troupe will be staged at 7pm at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samiti in the capital’s Baily Road area this evening.
Crutcher Colonel’, an adaptation of eminent novelist Shahaduzzaman’s novel with the same title ‘Crutcher Colonel’, has been directed by Mohammad Ali Haider and dramatised by Soumya Sarkar and Samina Luthfa Nitra.
The play portrays the life of one of the masterminds of the November 7 coup Colonel Taher, who was executed in 1976. The probable cast of the play includes, Imran Khan Munna, Evan Riaz, Luthfa, Ruma, Toufique Hasan Bhuiyan, Nafij Bindu and Abdur Rahim. Imran Khan Munna designed the stage, while Khalid Mahmud Sejan set the stage lighting and Pintu Ghosh composed music.
