A five and a half year old boy has been injured in beating over allegation of theft at Jujhkhola village in Pirojpur Sadar upazila. The victim -- Md Mehidi Hasan, son of Md Jonab Ali Howlader, is now under treatment at Pirojpur Sadar Hospital. Victim’s father said on Tuesday morning Mehidi went to buy chalk from a shop in the village.  At that time another shopkeeper there by the name Abdur Rab Khan took him behind his shop and started beating him with a stick over allegation that Mehidi had stolen his betel nuts that were kept for drying. At one stage of beating when Mehidi lost his sense Rab fled away leaving the child there. On receiving the information Shirin Akter, mother of Mehidi, rushed to the spot and took Mehidi to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital.  A general diary  has been filed with Pirojpur Sadar police station against Rab yesterday noon.
