RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a firearms peddler with a foreign pistol and ammunition from Boharampur area under Rajpara Police Station in the city Wednesday night, RAB said  yesterday, reports BSS. The arrested was identified as Yeasin Ali, 25, son of Bazlur Rahman of Durgapur Kansat village under Shibgonj Upazila of Chapainawabgonj district. On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid at the area around 10.30 pm and arrested Yeasin Ali and recovered a foreign pistol, magazine and four rounds of bullets from his possession. Quoting his confessional statement RAB sources said he was involved in illegal firearms trading for long. The detained person along with the firearms and ammunitions were handed over to police after filing a case with the police station concerned in this connection, the sources added.
