Bangladesh Swimming Federation has already got a Japanese coach who arrived in the capital yesterday. JAICA provided the coach for developing swimming in Bangladesh. Ahead of the Bangabandhu International Junior Swimming competition to be organised on the occasion of the ‘Mujib Borsho’ in June with the participation of all South Asian countries, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and host Bangladesh. The Japanese coach Takahiro Taguchi came to replace his compatriot Takio Enoki.
Takio Enoki left Bangladesh before the SA Games in Nepal and under local coach swimming team could not do result up to the mark in the Games. Bangladesh could win only three silver and eight bronze medals when in 2016 SA Games Bangladesh won two gold and 15 bronze medals.
Coach Takahiro Taguchi after few minutes of his arrival in Dhaka, went Mymensingh for talent hunting from grassroots and after returning from Mymensingh he will begin the practice with the age group swimmers.
Meanwhile, the swimming federation submitted a budget for Taka 2,74,00,000 to the government for the preparation of the Bangabandhu International Junior Swimming competition but it is uncertain that when they will receive the fund. General secretary of the BSF Mollah Badrul is very much pensive when the budget will be allocated for them.
