4 held over murder in Ctg
Member of DB police on Wednesday and Thursday in separate drives at city’s Lalkhanbazar and Sadarghat areas arrested four persons allegedly their involvement with the murder of a youth at Lalkhanbazar in Chittagong. The arrestee were identified as Md Sharif Ahmed alias Tempo Sharif, 23, Md Sharif Rahman alias Sondar Sharif, 23, Mohammad Shohag, 29 and Rezaual Karim alias Raju, 25. Police on last Saturday recovered the body of a decomposed unidentified youth age between 21-22 years, from a constructing building of Delta Housing of city’s Lalkhan bazar area.
Later, the body was identified as Fazle Rabbi and was buried his native home Bogra. Earlier, two separate general diaries were lodged in Khulsi police station stating that two youths Fazle Rabbi and Mohammad Khokon were missing from Lalkhan bazaar area.
However, with the arrest of the four youths in this connection police is now in confused that the body was of Fazle Rabbi or not. Because the arrested four youths demanded it was the body of Mohammad Khokon, they killed him establishing internal supremacy in the locality and over their group. DB Police oragnised a press briefing with the four arrestees at Chittagong Metropolitan Police Head Quarters
yesterday. In the press briefing Raju told the reporters that Khokon, Tempo Sharif, Shohag, Rabbi, Ali, Bablu Driver are friends and worked in a same group.
“On May 28 at around 11pm they were chatting at Poda Colony, at that time, due to internal supremacy Tempo Sharif and Khokon locked an altercation. Tempo Sharif hit Khokon by brick on head. At
that time others hacked to death him,” said Raju.
“Khokon always disturbs the boys of the group,” he was killed, added Raju.
“To identify the body now needs DNA test,” said Kusum Dewan, Deputy Police Commissioner, DB of CMP. SM Tanvir Arafat, additional deputy police commissioner, DB of CMP said they are not involved with any politics they are
identified terrorists in the locality.
