Terming English as a crucial medium for international communication, media and internet, speakers at a job fair yesterday underscored the need for becoming proficient in an additional language, especially in English, as it helps youths get jobs.
“It is important to learn an additional language, preferably English. It is expedient to secure employment if young people have skill and language proficiency,” said Prof Mirza Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Vice Principal of Kurigram Government College, while taking part in the discussion coinciding with a job fair.
CARE Bangladesh, organised a day-long job fair in Kurigram yesterday, where CARE’ Strengthening Household Ability to Respond to Development Opportunities (SHOUHARDO) III with support from MJSKS and Technical Training Centre, Kurigram facilitated job opportunity for skilled youths, said a press release.
Kurigram Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sultana Pervin was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Over 400 young male and female skilled youths from different corners of Kurigram joined the fair.
