In recognition of noteworthy contribution to the country’s music arena, 14th edition of ‘Channel i Music Award’ will be conferred on the eligible singers and musicians today.

Veteran singer Rafiqul Alam and Fakir Alamgir will be honoured this year for their outstanding contribution to the modern Bangla song and Gana Sangeet respectively.

This year’s award ceremony is set to take place today on the open premises of The Palace Luxury Resort in Bahubal, Habiganj. A huge number of artistes and musicians from the different genres are going to be reunited on the same stage through the event.

Alongside handing over the honourary award, the critic awards will be distributed in 14 categories, such as Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, Loko Sangeet, lyricist, music director, music video, cover design, sound engineer, modern song, band, newcomer, playback song, classical vocal music and classical instrumental music.

With the aim of promoting pure music in the country, the biggest music award event of the South Asia, ‘Channel i Music Award’ was commenced in 2004.
