18th graduation ceremony of MIST held

The 18th Graduation Ceremony of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) was held on its campus in the capital yesterday.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni attended the ceremony as chief guest and handed over certificates and medals to the new graduates of MIST.  

At the preamble of the ceremony, she paid special tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and recalled with reverence, the sacrifice of martyrs during Liberation War of 1971 and great language movement in 1952.

While speaking at the graduation ceremony, Education Minister congratulated all the graduating students of the twelve departments of MIST for their successful completion of academic tenure. She urged all to ensure maximum utilisation of merit and competence for the development of the country with utmost patriotism, honesty and sincerity.

A total of 481 students completed their graduation this year. Among them, 418 were civil and 63 military students. BA-7889 Maj Md Ziaul Islam, Eng of Civil Engineering Department was awarded Osmany Memorial Gold Medal for his outstanding academic performance.
