‘Technical edn vital for dev’

Speakers at a seminar yesterday said technical and vocational education and training among the youths are very crucial for transforming Bangladesh into a middle-income country. They viewed technical education could be an effective means of building competent and skilled human resources.

Role of skilled people is also very important for earning more foreignremittance which is significant for the country’s development, they told at the seminar titled “Role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training towards Sustainable Economic Development: Bangladesh Perspective” at Rajshahi Mohila Polytechnic Institute (RMPI) here. Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) organised the seminar where the participants discussed ways and means on how to hold the forthcoming SSC/Dakhil and Vocational Examinations properly and ensure a copying-free atmosphere.

All the centre-secretaries, principals and headmasters from 95 examination centres in Pabna, Natore, Naogaon, Chapainawabganj, Sirajganj and Rajshahi districts joined the seminar. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajshahi Hamidul Haque and RMPI Principal Omor Faruque addressed the seminar as chief guest.
