A two day ‘Amal Sen Mela’ marking the 17th death anniversary of Comrade Amal Sen begins today at Bakri High School premises in Narail. The main objective of the fair is to commemorate the life and works of Amal Sen, a veteran communist leader, former president of Workers’ Party of Bangladesh and the leading organizer of historic ‘Tevaga Movement’ of Narail.
Former minister and president of Workers Party Rashed Khan Menon will inaugurate the fair at 12-30 pm today.
Organised by Amal Sen Smrity Raksha Parshad, the opening session will be chaired by advocate Nazrul Islam, vice president of Amal Sen Smrity Raksha Parishad. The two day fair includes placing of floral wreaths at the grave of Amal Sen, discussion meeting on his life, works and cultural function. A fair will also be held at Bakri School premises.
Professor Rabindranath Biswas, secretary of ‘Amal Sen Smrity Rakshma Committee’ said, all preparations have been made to celebrate the 17th death anniversary of Comrade Amal Sen.
