More world-class hotels needed to attract tourists

The government has declared 2016 as Tourist Year (Parjatan Barsha) aiming at bringing 10 lakh tourists, but the country lacks high-standard hotels in adequate number for accommodation of such a large number of tourists, reports BSS. Speakers said this while addressing the inaugural session of a three-day Nabanna Mela 2015 on the Ratnowdeep Resort premises in Pabna yesterday.  Al-Nakib Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of University of Science and Technology, Pabna, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest. On the occasion of Nabanna Mela, various programmes were arranged to give the picture of Bengali tradition.
