An alleged fake examinee was held during the entry test of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) under the academic session 2015-16 yesterday. The arrestee was identified as Nasir Hossain, a 2nd year student of Civil Engineering department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology(BUET).  He hails from Chandipur under Jhenaidah district. Sources said Nasir Hossain admitted that he had sat for the examination as a proxy of Tariikhuzzaman Rony, a student of Anandamohon College, Mymensingh, after cutting a deal of a  huge amount of money. The sources added during the entry test of the ‘B’ unit in the Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Hospital centre around 3:00pm , teachers found dissimilarity between the photo in the admit card and the face of Nasir.
Teachers invigilating the examination caught Nasir red handed around 4:00pm and took him to the proctor’s office. The proctorial team handed him over a mobile court.  The mobile court led by executive magistrate Ziaul Islam Chowdhury gave him one year’s imprisonment under Public Examination Crime Act, 1980.  Later he was sent to jail around 9:30pm. SUST Proctor Prof Qumruzzaman Chowdhury said, “The detainee was handed over to a mobile court which gave him one year’s imprisonment. A gang was involved behind this. I asked the police administration to find out the gang behind it.” It is mentionable that the ‘A’ and ‘B’ unit admission tests of SUST were held yesterday.
