National Film Award and Ekhushey Padak winner veteran actor-director Abul Hayat is spending busy time directing two tele-dramas for Victory Day. DhakaLive has news that the directorial work for one of the tele-dramas has already been completed and the other one will be completed sometime next week. The tele-drama titled ‘Sheul Kotha’, based on a short story ‘Gonokobor’ by Rabeya Khatun stars Naznin Hasan Chumki, Abdullha Rana, among others. It is based on the brutal sufferings of women during the Liberation War. Alongside women, young girls were also the victims of the horrific sufferings and that is the main theme of the tele-drama.
Regarding the tele-drama, Abul Hayat said, “I have tried to properly present the story from ‘Gonokobor’ through the tele-drama. The actors played their characters perfectly and a young girl named Tori played an extraordinary role of the character Sheuli. I am extremely satisfied after directing this tele-drama. I hope that the viewers will get to know something new about the Liberation War.” Abul Hayat informed that the tele-drama will be aired on Channel i during Victory Day.
Next week, Abul Hayat will be busy directing another tele-drama which he has written himself titled ’Ekkator er Diary’, which is also based on the Liberation War.
To note, last year during Victory Day, Abul Hayat directed a tele-drama titled ‘Sakkhatkar’, which included Subarna Mustafa and Taukir Ahmed, which was aired on ATN Bangla. He also directed a new drama serial with Shomi Kaiser titled ‘Akasher Opare Akash’, which is expected to air on NTV in December. l
