Newly elected Member of Parliament from Magura-1 constituency Maj Gen (retd) ATM Abdul Wahhab took oath of office yesterday, reports UNB. Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at her Sangsad Bhaban office, said a Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat press release. Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, Chief Whip ASM Feroz, Prime Minister’s Adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury were present at the oath-taking ceremony. The by-election to the Magura-1 constituency  was held on May 30. The parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Dr Muhammad Serajul Akbar who died on March 9.
