BCB chief’s bid to develop game at divisional level

In a bid to develop the grassroots level cricket of the country, Nazmul Hassan Papon, president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), started his divisional-level campaign from Rangpur yesterday. The board president has visited Rangpur Cricket Garden (RCG) and looked after the current situation of the games in the division, where he inaugurated a local league.
Board directors- IH Mallick, Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, Sheikh Sohel, Akram Khan, Khaled Mahmud Sujon, Abdul Awal Chowddhury Bhulu, Advocate Anwarul Islam and CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Shujan accompanied the president during his tour. Papon is expected to travel to Barisal, Khulna, Sylhet and other divisions of the country shortly as part of his inspection.  
BCB Tournament Committee chairman Akram Khan, who was one of the members of the entourage, said that the president came to visit Rangpur as part of his development work.
“President has inaugurated a local league after coming here in Rangpur. He then inspects the condition of the Rangpur Cricket Garden (RCG) and looks after the players of the local areas. Along with that, he has given his assurance to local concerned authority to help develop the RCG further to make it an international standard stadium so that the venue can host international match and matches in future,” said Akram Khan.
