The National Textbook Festival, where free textbooks are distributed to school and madrasa students, was held across the country. As many as 353,144,554 free textbooks has been distributed on Wednesday to more than 42 million primary and secondary levels students across the country for the academic year 2020.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, a total of 35,07,539 new books were distributed among 4,18,494 students from the classes one to nine in Chapainawabganj district marking Books Festival Day- 2020 yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj AZM Nurul Hoque inaugurated the festival as chief guest in two separate functions at Horimohon Government High School and Model Government Primary School in Chapainawabganj town.
Our Jhenidah Correspondent reports, over 4,6 lakh children of six upazilas of Jhenidah have received new books in the new year of 2020 on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath handed the new books to the minor learners through a simple ceremony at Jhenidah government girls school.

Nabila Akter, SamiyaMou and some mother learners when asked about their reaction receiving the new books, said they could not express their satisfaction on the first day of the year.

A total of 7,27,875 books were distributed among 1,55,615 students in all primary schools in Panchagarh in the begining of this year. On the other hand, 2,50,000 books were distributed among 58 secendary school in the upazila this year.
