Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has started their all out endeavor to make it success of the sixth edition of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football tournament.

The opening tournament of the 'Mujib Borsha' sports events, Bangabandhu Gold Cup will take place from January 15-25 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

This time BFF decided to organise the tournament at one venue and that is Bangabandhu Stadium, Dhaka, as the BFF president told that at the ‘Mujib Borsha’, they wanted to organise the tournament after the name the Father of Nation at this stadium which also named after the Bangabandhu.

However, an emergency meeting of the BFF executives was held with the only agendas of Bangabandhu Gold Cup and the Bangabandhu National Football Championship.

The meeting has already selected Abdus Salam Murshedi the chairman of the  organizing committee while the sub-committee will also be prepared very soon while Harunur Rashid was made the chairman for the Bangabandhu National Football Championship which will start from the end of this month.

The K-Sports regained the right of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup and the logo unveil and the draw ceremony of the tournament will be held on January 4 when the names of the six participation team will also be officially announced.

Bangabandhu National Football Championship will take place in eight zones while the zonal champions will move into the final round might be take place at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Meanwhile, the senior vice-president of the BFF Salam Murshedi also informed that FIFA fined BFF Swiss Frank 15,000 and $28,000 in two disciplinary grounds.

Salam said, during the World Cup qualifying round match against Qatar some of the fans tried to enter into the ground crossing the fence and FIFA disciplinary committee fine 15,000 frank (Swiss) and $28,0000 were fined due to the local coaches not to sign on their attendance book.

Salam said, as some of the coaches have to work outside Dhaka and do not put their signature regularly for living outside the city, but audit doesn’t not agreed with the excuse.
