A three-day music programme titled ‘Gaaner Jharna Talay’, organised by Bengal Foundation, held on the Dhanmondi premises of Bengal Shilpalaya in the capital from December 26 to 28.

Dedicating to noted music exponent Mobarak Hossain Khan, the student of Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay performed at the programme titled ‘Agrahayan-Poush Baithak’ on the first day on Thursday. Ilham Fuljhuri and Isra Fuljhuri played sarod, while Ratan Kumar Das accompanied her on tabla, Kaniz Husna performed Khayal, while Prasanta Bhowmik played tabla and Tinku Sheel played harmonium, Rinat Fouzia played setar, while Prasanta Bhowmik played tabla at the event.

The second day of the event featured musical performance ‘Praner Khela’, where singers Shraboni Majumdar and Bulbul Islam rendered Tagore songs. Shraboni Majumdar rendered ‘Tini Tomar Sur Sunaye’, ‘Dirghajibi Path’, ‘Ami Kaan Pete Roi’, ‘Din Guli Mor Sonar Khanchay’. On the other hand, Bulbul Islam rendered ‘Bhubenaswar He’, ‘Kar Milon Chao Birohi’, ‘Ami Je Gaan Gai’, and others.

The concluding day of the three-day programme included the launching ceremony of two audio albums of two artistes and their performances. Liberation War Museum Trustee Mafidul Haque unveiled the covers of the CDs at the progamme on the premises of Bengal Shilpalaya. The albums were ‘Je Amay Kanday’ by singer Mostafizur Rahman Turja and ‘Chameli Tomari Chand’ by singer Sharmin Sathi.

With the musical performance of Turja and Sathi, the curtain fell on the three-day musical event.
