More foreign players to join Bangabandhu BPL

Dhaka Platoon have planned to boost their batting and bowling departments ahead of the next two important phases of the ongoing Akash-DTH Bangabandhu-Bangladesh Premier League.

As a part of the plan, the Platoon will bring in Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad coupled with his compatriot pace all-rounder Faheem Ashraf. It’s learnt from the close source of the team that the duo will be seen at the beginning of the fourth-leg of the domestic blockbuster Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.

Currently, Dhaka are languishing in fourth place at the BPL standings with eight points from seven outings, where they lost a couple of ties at the close of victory. Chattogram Challengers are dominating the chart with the highest 12 points, while Rajshahi Royals and Khulna Tigers are closely walking with the identical 10 points.

However, West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons and pacer Kesrick Williams  of Chattogram Challengers will return to the Caribbean Islands for their national duty. It’s learnt from the team sources that the duo will not be seen after January 6. In the meantime, West Indies stalwart Chris Gayle will join the team along with Sri Lanka all-rounder Asela Gunaratne. The duo will be seen in the last phase of the BPL in Dhaka.
