Legal notice served seeking security for DUCSU VP

A legal notice has been served to the Home Secretary, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor and its proctor seeking security for DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur. The notice, filed by Supreme Court Lawyer Moniruzzaman Linkon, says legal steps will be taken if they fail to take necessary measures within seven days.

"VP Nur is not only a citizen of the state but also an elected representative of students who's assaulted repeatedly. So, the state should immediately take proper measures for him," the notice adds.

On December 22, leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Muktijuddha Mancha reportedly attacked Nur and his followers at the Ducsu office, leaving at least 28 people injured.

The attackers also threw Farabi and Suhel from the rooftop of DUCSU Building.

On April 2 and March 11 this year, Nur was physically assaulted allegedly by BCL members on the Dhaka University campus.

He was also injured in an attack reportedly by BCL men in Bogura district town on May 26.
