NARAYANGANJ: A woman was killed allegedly by her husband and co-wife following a dispute over his second marriage in Bhuighor Chowrbari area of Fatullah upazila on Wednesday night, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Asma Begum, 28, wife of Monir Hossain, hailing from Tilarknada village of Saltha upazila in Faridpur district. Monir Hossain, son of Ibrahim of the village, had married Asma, daughter of Badsha Matbor, a resident of Attukra village, seven years ago. Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Station, said recently, Monir had married Shilpi Akhter and after the marriage, they came to Fatullah. Over the issue, Asma locked in an altercation with her husband. Following the dispute, Monir called Asma to his residence at night and poisoned her to death. He also told neighbours that Asma committed suicide by taking poison and left the house with the body along with Shilpi, added the OC.
