CHITTAGONG: Police in separate drives arrested 12 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) from the city and Satkania Upazila of the district on Wednesday night and yesterday, reports BSS. Bakalia police arrested a leader and three activists of Shibir from a student mess near B. Ed College area on Wednesday night, said Mohammad Mohsin, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Bakalia police station. The arrested were Bakalia Ward unit Finance Secretary of ICS Mohammad Mainuddin Sifat, 21, and activists - Khairul Abedin Rony, Farhan Nasir, 18 and Abdul Kaium, 18. Police also recovered different publications of ICS from their office during the drive. In another drive, police arrested eight Shibir activists from a Madrasah under Kaliaish Union of Satkania Upazila this morning when they were holding a secret meeting for planning sabotage activities, said AKM Emran Bhuiyan, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Satkania Circle.
