The Anti Corruption Commission ACC) will hold a public hearing on services provided by Assistant Commissioners (Land) and Sub-registrars’ offices in the capital on December 10 next, reports UNB. The ACC made the announcement at a views-exchange meeting with reporters at its Dhaka Divisional office yesterday. Speaking at the meeting, ACC director Nasim Anwar said the hearing will be held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on services provided by Assistant Commissioners and Sub-registrars’ offices of Tejgaon, Gulshan, Katwali and Sutrapur areas. The city dwellers, who have the experiences of sufferings in availing themselves of services from those offices, can take part in the public hearing to make their allegations against the government officials responsible for that. They have been requested to communicate with the ACC head office or its Dhaka Divisional office or members of local Corruption Prevention Committees to take part in the hearing. Nasim said the public hearing is being arranged as part of the Commission’s prevention activities being carried out following the Anti Corruption Commission Act 2004 and the National Integrity Strategy.
