Non-MPO teachers, under the banner of Non-MPO Educational Institutions’ Teachers Employees Federation, held protest programme in front of the national Press Club in the capital holding empty plates and bowls in their hands yesterday. They have been continuing their sit-in for the last 18 straight days demanding inclusion of their institutions under the government’s Monthly Payment Order (MPO). The protesters each day hold different programmes. For instance, they wore black masks and formed a human chain on Wednesday on the spot. They will stage sit-in for Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday they will hold new programme. The teachers said they were planning for a visit to the education minister tomorrow (Friday). On October 26, they had begun their sit-in at Central Shaheed Minar in the capital and after holding sit-in for four days, they embarked on their fast-unto-death programme on October 30 in front of the National Press Club.
