Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury yesterday said the utilization of Information Technology (IT) is playing a vital and fruitful role in expediting the country’s development. “We have earned remarkable achievements and success in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector within a short time. Bangladesh has emerged as the development wonder in the globe under the prudence leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” she said.

The speaker made the remarks while addressing a pre-procession rally at the Manik Miah Avenue adjacent to the South Plaza of the JS Bhaban on the occasion of the third Digital Bangladesh Day 2019, said a press release.  As per the plan of Digital Bangladesh, comprehensive programmes, including modernizing the government and private sectors, bringing the whole country under internet coverage, remarkable use of mobile phones, producing and importing IT products, including ICT education in the National Curriculum and imparting ICT trainings, are being operated across the country, Dr Sharmin said.
