YPAB holds Career Mania

To develop the skills of young professionals and interested young minds, Young Professionals Association of Bangladesh (YPAB) recently organised a career-based event, Career Mania (Vol-1).
Corporate officials conducted two different sessions, ‘The Art of Corporate Presentation and Communication’ and ‘Personality Branding of a Corporate Leader’, at the programme held at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in the capital on Oct 30.
Around 30 participants, mostly young professionals or university students, attended the daylong event.
Drawing from his own career experience on presentation and communication, Syed Abul Hasnat Rubbyyet, sales & marketing manager of ABC Radio, advised the young participants: “Be presentable, be open, concentrate on body languages and prepare with practice.” He also emphasised on following great world leaders and presenters to develop individual speaking skills. “Proper presentation and communication skill is the key to success for any professional,” he added.
Misha Mahjabeen, national sales manager of Tupperware Bangladesh, focused on the importance of personality branding of professionals. “If you are an individual, you are a unique brand. Do improve your own brand image, because in this digital world, each of your activity, even your Facebook status, is being watched and that impacts your company’s brand equity,” she said.
One of the participants, Moriom Akhter Nila, sub-editor at Shajgoj.com, told Y&I: “The programme was really helpful for young professionals like us. What we learned today will stay in my mind, and I can certainly put it to use in my professional life. I would like to thank YPAB for giving us such an opportunity. And I am keenly waiting for their next career mania.”
YPAB is an organisation that aims to lead and support young professionals to develop their professional skills.
“With the motto ‘Skilled Bangladsh/ Better Bangladesh’, we already are focused on developing our young professionals as skilled ones. We believe development is a continuous process and hence, an initiative like ‘Career Mania’ can help future professionals to know more about the corporate world and prepare them for the latest demands of the global world,” YPAB founder Tarif Mohammad Khan said.
