A case has been filed against seven officials of local Palli Bidyut Samity on charges of beating up journalists and vandalizing their cameras.

Local correspondent of Mohona Television Atiq Rahman filed the case with the Bogura Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday while the Judge Asma Mahmud ordered Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit their investigation report within 15 days.

The accused were DGM Rezzakur Rahman, AGM Golam Rabbani and five other local officers of Bogura Palli Bidyut Samity-2.

According to the case statement, an investigative report on irregularities of Palli Bidyut Samity was aired on Mohona Television on October 26. Later journalists for their second episode went to Palli Bidyut office on December 2 when the officials attacked them and vandalized their cameras.
