Marking the 40th anniversary, popular Bangladeshi band Miles is going to perform at a gala concert on December 24 at Bashundhara International Convocation Centre (BICC) in the capital.
Windmill Advertising Limited, the sole organizer of the event, made the announcement of hosting the scheduled concert at a dinner party at a club in the capital on last Thursday in the presence of the members of Miles and related officials. Renowned lyricists from several bands, including Miles, Warfaze, Vikings, Maqsood, and Feedback, were present at the event.
Members of Miles said that they planned to arrange the last concert in Bangladesh, marking their 40-year journey. Adding more attractions, some other popular bands will also perform at the event. They have also planned to surprise the audiences and fans on the day of the concert. Moreover, the contest winning fans will get an opportunity to sing with Miles, and an announcement in this regard will be made soon.
Sabbir Rahman Tanim, chief executive officer of Windmill, said, “Miles has been associated with the commencement of many things in our country. The windmill will come up with so many surprises to highlight the event among the fans. The announcement is coming soon.”
Maqsoodul Haqe Maqsood, one of the pioneer members of Maqsood and Dhaka band, “Every task of Miles, a 40-year old band in the country, is very well-organized. Not just for being a band member, I have always been with them as a friend from the beginning and I will be there for them in the future too.
Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu of Warfaze said, “A common people will never understand the behind-the-scene stories, hard work and sacrifice during the 40-year long journey of a band. Miles will always be considered as an inspiration for the beginners.”
However, the gala concert of Miles is going to be held as part of its 6-month series of concerts around the world, marking the 40th anniversary of the troupe. The band has already performed at 28 concerts in the USA, Canada and Australia in the past five months. Now, the final concert of the series is set for the fans and audiences on December 24.
